| As a resident of Eastpointe for 7 years, I have increasingly had an interest in taking an active role in my local government. Particularly, the Beautification Commission is of interest to me. Keeping Eastpointe's green spaces clean and maintained, and also aesthetically pleasing, is important in promoting and projecting pride in our community. Some things I'd like to achieve while on the commission is to increase awareness and desire by the community to create more garden spaces on public and private property to increase pollinators and improve management of storm water. I'd also like to reinvigorate the initiative to get more trees planted on the embankments of properties to create more shady areas and decrease the ground temperature during the summer. I also would like to increase overall community participation at Commission events. Professional qualifications: I have 15 years of people management experience. I have 7 years of project management experience. I have 7 years experience leveraging social media platforms as a tool for small businesses to achieve goals. I led an Eastpointe ad-hoc committee to create and adopt a new social media policy. I am the proud creator of a very large flower and vegetable garden on my property and understand the work and nuance that is required to create and maintain over many years. |
